Why free promotion

Most ways to grow an app cost money or goodwill.

Costs money

Ads

You pay for every click, and the people stop coming the day you stop paying.

Costs goodwill

Spam and link drops

Spamming threads and inboxes ruins your name in the places you most want to be welcome.

Costs neither

Start where people already want it

A question your app answers, an audience that asked for it, a directory people search. Show up with something useful, and it costs nothing.

The hard part is finding those places every week. That's what DiscoverMyApp does.

How it picks

People asking, not just mentions.

A keyword alert pings you every time your topic comes up. Most of those people are showing off, venting or already sorted. We keep the ones who are asking.

  1. 01Found. Posts about your app's topic, from every site we search.
  2. 02Filtered. Brag posts, rants and solved threads are crossed out, with the reason.
  3. 03Ranked. The few people asking for what you built are ranked by how well they fit.

Built for trust

Promotion that doesn't feel like spam.

  • You send everything. Nothing is posted, emailed or submitted for you. No bot accounts, fake likes or mass replies.
  • Honest by default. Replies answer the question first and say the app is yours. Pitches are short and personal, for you to send from your own email.
  • Only where it's allowed. We only use sites whose rules allow it. We skip groups that ban self-promotion, and we never store a creator's contact details.

Someone asked · public forum

“Is there a simple way to track customer requests without a spreadsheet?”

The drafted reply

A shared inbox with tags gets you most of the way. Use one address for requests, a tag per customer, and check anything untagged once a week. I built a small tool for exactly this. It's mine, so keep that in mind. The inbox approach works fine on its own too.

Questions

A few things worth knowing.

Does it post or send anything for me?

No. It finds and drafts. You post, send and submit everything yourself, from your own accounts.

Will it make me look like a spammer?

It's built not to. Replies answer the question first and say the app is yours. You get a few good places each week, not hundreds of weak ones.

How is this different from a social listening tool?

Listening tools alert you every time a word comes up. We look for people who want what your app does and draft a reply for each. We also find creators, places to list your app and posts to make.

What's in the free preview?

Paste your website and see what we understood about your app. With a free account, the preview also shows free places to list it, and a real person asking for what it does if a quick search finds one. No card needed.

Where does it look?

Posts and comments on YouTube, Hacker News, Bluesky and Stack Exchange. Creators on YouTube and Apple Podcasts. And a hand-checked list of free places to list an app. We only use sites whose rules allow it.

Does it work if my app isn't on the App Store?

Yes. Web apps, Android apps and tools get the same weekly list. A few listing sites only take iPhone apps, so we only show those if your app is on the App Store.

Can I pay as I go instead of subscribing?

Yes. Buy scans in packs (5 for 5, 15 for 10, 25 for 15). You get every tab for up to 3 apps, and a scan runs whenever you start one. A plan adds daily scans that run on their own. Pack scans never expire. Scanning every few days finds the most.

What if it doesn't suit my app?

Preview it first, for free. If you subscribe and it isn't for you, you get your first payment back within 7 days, and you can cancel any time. With a scan pack, you can use one scan and still get a refund within 7 days. You get one refund in total, for a plan or a pack.

See what it finds for your app.

I built DiscoverMyApp because growing an app shouldn't mean paying for ads or spamming threads. It finds the places your app really belongs, and you do the sending.
